About Eisenhower Dance Company:
Eisenhower Dance has spent the last 25 years giving life to the repertoire of internationally known choreographers, as well as the highly acclaimed work of Artistic Director Laurie Eisenhower. Established in metro Detroit by Eisenhower in 1991, the Company presents an annual subscription series and tours internationally. The company has performed works by choreographers Edgar Zendejas, David Parsons, Lar Lubovitch, Ron de Jesus, Gina Patterson, Lauren Edson and Harrison McEldowney, to name a few. The Company’s mission of collaboration has resulted in performances with the Michigan Opera Theatre, the Great Lakes Chamber Music Festival, the Warren Symphony, the Immigrant Suns, Detroit Chamber Winds & Strings, the Rackham Symphony Choir, the Motor City Lyric Opera and the Toledo Opera, among others. Eisenhower Dance Company Concert
Over the course of one week, eleven ONU dancers learned “Catharsis”, a Eisenhower Dance repertoire piece. They performed this piece during the Eisenhower Dance’s concert sponsored by the Ohio Dance Festival. The choreographer stayed in residency for five days then returned to the Eisenhower Dance until the Friday of tech week.

Featuring Shirtz with the Danny Bauer Trio, the show features highlights and tributes of the great composers and legendary performers that defined the landscape of America's entertainment industry in the 20th Century. From the music of Irving Berlin and Gershwin, through the struggles of the Great Depression and World War II, up through the sounds and inspirational spirit of the 1950's, Motown, and the Singer & Songwriters era. Through Michael's newer arrangements of some great classic's, his conversational approach with the audience, concert-goers experienced a diverse and exciting show celebrating a century's great contribution of music.

Ailey II
Ailey II is universally renowned for merging the spirit and energy of the country’s best young dance talent with the passion and creative vision of today’s most outstanding emerging choreographers. Founded in 1974, the company embodies Alvin Ailey’s pioneering mission to establish an extended cultural community that provides dance performances, training and community programs for all people. After touring North America and abroad, Ailey II brings its critically acclaimed performances home each spring for an annual New York season at The Ailey Citigroup Theater. Past engagements have taken place at the world-famous Apollo Theater and The Joyce Theater. The company’s repertory has included works by dance masters Alvin Ailey, Talley Beatty, Donald Byrd, Ulysses Dove, George W. About Peter Gros:
Peter Gros has nearly 30 years of field experience with wildlife. In his former position as Director of Land Animals and Vice President at Marine World/Africa USA, he and his team established breeding programs for hundreds of endangered animals. He also developed a rehabilitation program for birds of prey, as well as the largest captive breeding colony of ostriches in the United States. He is a licensed U.S.D.A. exhibitor and a wildlife lecturer. An active member of the American Zoo and Aquariums Association as well as the Zoological Association of America, Gros is also on the Board of Directors of the Suisun Marsh Natural History Association, and a trustee for the Cheetah Conservation Fund. He is a frequent lecturer on conservation and preservation at universities, zoos, theaters and nature and science centers around the nation. His goal is to share his passion for the natural world with young people across the planet, inspiring them to protect animals both locally and globally. “We need to continue to deliver a powerful message about how each of us can make a daily difference in preserving our natural world,” Gros says. “It is possible to use our natural resources in a sustainable manner. We simply need to educate our nation’s youth about the importance of wildlife conservation.” Peter’s life is dedicated to inspiring young people to care about wildlife and wild places. All Animals, All the Time. On “Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom” on Animal Planet, Peter Gros provides the link between the original series, for which he served as co-host, and the new specials. This ensures that the new specials remain true to the heritage of the beloved original series.
The original “Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom” series – a program honored with 41 major awards, including four Emmy Awards and an endorsement by the National PTA for television programming recommended for family viewing – was one of the best-known and longest-running series on nature and the animal world.
